A path of embodiment

Duc Hanh (1993) is an interdisciplinary artist living in Saigon.
Hanh has been working intensively with movement and the body since 2019. Hanh's background in graphic creation, psychotherapy, and experimental projects provides her with a unique perspective on movement and its impact on emotions and the subconscious. 

In 2023 - 2024, Hanh was sponsored to train in a Mettler-based Creative Dance program  in Tucson, Arizona. Hanh strongly believes in the possibilities of recovery, identity reconstruction and co-creation through organic movement. 

Driven by the need for personal expression, Hanh's work explores the themes of internal migration and global integration. She views the body as a container of the universal subconsciousness, a perspective that shapes her artistic practice. Hanh uses the body as a tool for reflection and social inquiry. 

After graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from HCMC University of Technology, Hanh seeks to continue her academic path, researching performance and art as a critical practice and applying movement to social development.

Background

  • Sensory Visions Project by APD (2025) — Artist Participating artist in a research-based project, led a movement workshop for both sighted and visually impaired participants. The workshop invites participants to explore non-visual perception — sensing through breath, touch, sound, and active imagination in movement in depth.

    Wholeness Movement (2023 - present) — Initiator
    Founder and facilitator of a community-based somatic practice focusing on integration, fluidity, and organic movement.

    Mettler-based Creative Dance (2022–2025) — Trainee/Facilitator
    Training in materials of dance, kinesthetic sense, basic elements of dance and emphasizing group dance improvisation.

    Ongoing self-inquiry practice in body-mind connection, attentive witnessing, and embodied expression.
